From Assumption College San Lorenzo to Ick’s alma mater, De La Salle University in Taft Avenue, Manila! Today is Everyday Frydate‘s third day to participate in For The Kids 2017. We cannot hide our excitement to be part of this as it has been in our prayer list. This was several years in the making–both prayer request and hard work. God has finally answered our prayer to bring the EF team with our chicken and potatoes in Green Archer’s campus! It is truly God’s work and man’s best labor. The customers’ response has been truly overwhelming and we have been warmly welcomed by everyone. Our food booth is located along with the other food concessionaires at Yuchengco Building in the campus. We are open from 9 in the morning until 5:30 in the late afternoon.
This event, For the Kids (FTK) was organized by the Center for Social Concern and Action (COSCA), a social development arm of DLSU. It is an annual mini-Olympics event which caters children with special needs. The activity is all about fun arts and interactive games like ring toss, football, shoot the ball, and bowling which is usually held during the feast day of Sto. Nino.
A very proud LaSallian here to see how the faculty and my fellow schoolmates participated as volunteers in assisting almost 500 participants of physically, emotionally, and mentally challenged children and helping them achieve self-worth through such an enjoyable event like this. I salute you for filling their hearts with so much love and happiness. This is an extraordinary greatness found where you least expect it! Thank you, COSCA, for making them the happiest children in the world even for just a week. Go green, white, white, white! Animo LaSalle! Go green, fry, fry, fry! Animo Ick and Ato!
