This is the time of the year where dance pad, dice, game boards, game controllers, robots, and all things that embed the gamers world take the stage. Welcome to the every gamer’s haven, Gamecon 2018.
We took a trip to Megatrade Hall Megamall last February 10 and 11 to participate in the Gamecon 2018. As a “newbie” in the gaming world, we can say that we had so much fun. The venue is not enough to fit not just the gamers but the intensity and passion of everyone in the event. I was expecting that there will be a lot of young men attendee but to my surprise, there were families who went around and spent time playing game boards with their kids. There were also kids in the Lego area building robots and buildings, women competing in multiplayer games, and of course, those who are young at heart who enjoyed watching real-life costumes such as Iron Man and Bumblebee.
Honestly, there were a lot of things that we are not familiar with but they were introduced to us in an awesome way, in a more creative and playful manner! There will be no reason for you not to dive into fun and personally experience what’s the hype is all about. After a few tries, you are going to be hooked to try again.
There were first-time-to-see-game boards being displayed, new apps (one of them is Hop Pico Piko) that will definitely capture the mobile player market, challenging multiplayer networking games, forever loved arcade games, and crazy zombie VR game.
We choose games that will turn back time to our childhood adventures to keep ourselves updated in the latest trends, or get ahead of everyone else with the hottest upcoming games or apps. Did we already say that the Cosplay in Gamecon are always crazy and awesome? The hottest duo ever, Mario and Luigi, is also part of the weekend wanderers. There are roaming Final Fantasy characters that made you feel you are in the game, and Juggernaut who, thankfully kept his cool down and gave smile to every photo.
Thank you Gamecon 2018, it was a very extraordinary, ecstatic, and fun-filled weekend! Again just like what Don Bosco said, “See you in the gaming world!”
