The Festival of Possibilities 2018: A Community Fair
Filinvest City in Alabang has started the first Friday of June with a fun community fair like no other. Although many have been praying for a fine weather, the rain did not stop people from coming together to explore possibilities and have a great time in this one-of-a-kind event. The Festival of Possibilities 2018 aims to bring the community closer together along with family and friends. The community fair took place in the 3-hectare, open-air venue of Filinvest City Events Grounds. This is just a few walks away from Crimson Hotel. People within the Alabang business district and guests are all invited to be part of this festival.
Music and Play Festival
The Festival of Possibilities 2018 has brought excitement and delight to many as they have featured fun activities. This ranges from giant inflatables, arcades, and booth games to food-and-goods bazaar. Aside from this, loud scream filled the area when local bands started to perform onstage. It was an incredible lineup of Autotelic, Ben&Ben, Franco, and Parokya ni Edgar. Wicked Adobo was the front act performer before these bands started playing.
The first performer was Autotelic, a Filipino indie-alternative rock band. One of the music played was Languyin, a journey towards transitioning and enabling serendipitous self-discovery.
Next were brothers Paolo and Miguel of Ben&Ben who started serenading the crowd with their Ride Home. Their songs created a relaxing and chill vibe all over the area which perfectly matches the drizzly weather.
From the serenading folk-pop band to rock superband, then followed by Franco. When this Cebu’s finest local band started strumming his guitar, his crazy level of energy obviously infected the South peeps.
As the rain becomes stronger, the crowd also grows even wilder. Most especially when Chito Miranda and the rest of Parokya ni Edgar band showed up to perform their original novelty songs onstage. Being a solid band for more than a decade, it was an outstanding performance! You could also hear the crowd sing along with the band and some of the audience were luckily picked to jam with them.
Undeniably, these live music performances dazzled the whole Alabang community. Not to mention how the crowd sang, danced, and jumped along with their favorite band as if it was not raining, including us! Everyday Frydate and the rest of the team was overwhelmed and thankful to be considered as one of the merchants of this event. Nothing can be compared to what we have experienced being here. Seeing familiar faces truly warmed our hearts. It was overwhelming to see how some of our friends from the south and acquaintances from different schools we have been enjoyed our cone of happiness –the chicken and potatoes! Also, hats off to the organizers of The Festival of Possibilities 2018, for having a safe and successful community fair. We never felt this secure knowing that this is a big event. And yes, it was a wet and wild experience!
