San Beda College Alabang celebrates the Pista ng Sto Nino to show their devotion as a community.
Let us have a short journey in our history. When the Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan landed in the Philippines, it was the wooden cross and an image of Sto. Nino was given to the natives in Cebu. They shared their Christian faith to the locals.
It was then the faith and devotion of the Filipino deepens as they embrace and acknowledge the image of the child Jesus or what we call Sto Nino.
The Sto Nino Feast has been a part of the Filipino culture. From Ati-than in Kalibo, Aklan, Sinulog in Cebu and Pista ng Sto Nino in San Beda College Alabang.
Through this feast, every program highlights the importance of having great faith. There were performances and talents shared during the three-day event.
These activities create a great camaraderie to the students and the community of San Beda College Alabang.
When there’s a celebration, we all know that food will be overflowing. Our team was blessed not only to served everyone but to be part of this glorious event.
Passing this tradition to the next generation is a responsibility in our shoulder. For it is a great reminder to everyone that we should always have a child-like faith.
A faith where we cry unto God every time we need comfort, joyfully thanked God for all the blessings we receive, seeking His will every time we feel lost and humbly asking for forgiveness every time we sinned.
Being part of an event like this makes us happy. For we not only share our passion with Chicken and Potato but also our love for God.
